SUMMARY:Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in June
DESCRIPTION:by Dan Streiffert \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n				\nRose-breasted Grosbeak\n\n\n\nI have been going to Malheur NWR for about 15 years now and still think it has the best birding in the Pacific Northwest.  Most years I go in April for the Migratory Bird Festival in Burns\, Oregon. Last year I spent the month of June there hoping for opportunities to photograph newborn chicks – particularly the Sandhill Cranes and Burrowing Owls.   \n\n\n\nI spent the month as a volunteer with the Friends of Malheur\, working half-time at ther Visitor Center and spending my free time mostly photographing wildlife.
