South Sound Nature School and Rainier Audubon Society have a unique relationship in our area’s birding community. Together we provide educational opportunities for all skill levels, from beginning to seasoned birders.
SSNS provides birding Basic Birding field classes assisted by RAS members and advertised on Rainier Audubon’s website and newsletter, reaching out to a diverse audience. Other activities include Bat Walks, Bird Walks, the annual Burien Bird Festival on the weekend of the Great Backyard Bird Count, the Rainier Audubon Nature Festival at a state park in our region.
Both SSNS and RAS are completely volunteer-run nonprofits. By working together and sharing resources we can reach more people.
