In the town of Selleck, Washington, there is an old two story schoolhouse with a brick and mortar chimney that is of vital importance to Vaux’s Swifts. This is a safe and comfortable place for them to roost at night. It’s a spectacular sight to see these sweet, fast flying acrobatic birds do their thing, then funnel into the chimney for the night.
Our small group of Swift Seekers are in great need of more volunteers to help observe their behavior and count them as they enter the chimney each night. The times that we do this are from mid April through mid September. We would be so pleased if you became a volunteer ! If interested, please contact Larry Schwitters at : leschwitters@me.com
