Join Barbara Petersen for a morning of birding at Billy Frank Jr Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge on Sat, Nov 14, 2026. We’ll meet at 7:30am at the Redondo Heights Park & Ride and wrap up at 12noon at the Refuge. 

Bring water, snacks, binoculars, spotting scopes, $3 cash Refuge entry fee/per 4 people or an America the Beautiful pass, and dress in layers for that day’s weather, rain or shine. 

We’ll look for wintering songbirds, gull species, raptors, and abundant waterfowl that use this refuge’s variety of habitats. These are protected and carefully managed for the benefit of birds and wildlife. We birders are sure to benefit, too, from visiting the scenic place.
